High quality, perfectly spherical miniature balls
MPS Microsystems does everything possible to produce perfectly spherical balls. A ball, or a sphere, is manufactured from an extruded wire which takes several days. The skilfully developed heat treatment gives the stainless steel exceptional physical characteristics and a minimum hardness of 58 HRC. The final step is polishing. It guarantees a mirror-polished ball and precision exceeding all expectations.
MPS is a past master in making balls less than a millimetre in diameter and can even go down to 0.150 mm. These miniature balls produced meet ‘Grade 3’, the highest quality level defined by the ISO 3290/DIN 5401 standard.
