Monnier S.A. and Procolor LCTI Sàrl, renowned for their expertise in watch finishing and surface treatments, join the watchmaking division of the MPS Group. The 2 acquired companies, located rue Morgarten in La Chaux-de-Fonds, will shortly merge under the name of Monnier S.A. They will remain legally independent of MPS.
Thanks to this new entity, MPS Watch is now in a position to offer its customers, in addition to ball bearings and watch movement components, galvanic treatments, pad printing, laser engraving and a wide variety of other watchmaking finishes.
With the acquisition of Charly Veya SA in Glovelier in 2023, and now with the arrival of Monnier S.A. and Procolor, MPS WATCH now integrates all the skills needed to manufacture automatic watch rotors. The company can thus supply this finished component, integrating its high-performance ball bearing as well as an oscillating weight of its own manufacture in tungsten or precious materials.
Monnier S.A. and Procolor will develop their high-quality subcontracting activities while benefiting from a solid, professional structure. The synergies between the entities open up impressive possibilities, building upon the MPS Group's vast expertise and capacity for innovation.
“This solution ensures the continuity of Monnier S.A. and Procolor's know-how, and we look forward to the capacity for innovation that this collaboration will bring,” concludes Sébastien Schmid, Managing Director of Monnier S.A. and Procolor.
An expanded offering
“The MPS Group is now a major player, with almost total integration of all watch component trades, including stamping, galvanic treatments, pad printing and mechanical or laser engraving. It's huge!” explains Frédéric Chautems, director of MPS Watch. Customers common to both companies welcome this union as a matter of course, given the complementary nature of their products and skills.
A sixth site for the MPS Group
The acquisition of Monnier S.A. and Procolor in La Chaux-de-Fonds marks the first MPS site in the Neuchâtel region, and the sixth for the Group. In addition to its headquarters in Biel, MPS currently has three production sites in Bonfol, Court and Glovelier, as well as an office in Boston (USA).
