MPS Micro Precision Systems (MPS), the micro technology and miniature bearings company and Marcel Frey SA (MFSA, a specialist in precision Swiss turning have merged.

MPS and Marcel Frey SA have announced their decision to join their forces!
Bienne and Court, December 14, 2007

 

Marcel Frey SA (MFSA) will be integrated as a subsidiary of MPS whilst keeping its identity and its production site in Court. MFSA keeps its legal independence. The regrouping will enable MFSA to develop its activities of precision turning. Important investments in personnel, machines and building are planed to better serve the existing customers, in the connector, aircraft and the luxury watch industrie, as well as to develop new markets.

 

The management of MPS and MFSA explained their decision, by the will to find a solution for the succession of Mr. Grosjean, the current owner of MFSA and for MPS to extend its capacity in Swiss precision turning. Mr. Edmond Grosjean is delighted that his firm can join a company like MPS, recognized for the excellence of its products based on the technology of miniature ball bearings: « I am highly confident in the constantability of Marcel Frey SA and I feel relieved that my qualified and devoted team can join such a professional company”.  The union of the forces will strengthen the long term financial security and assure the continuity in a period of shortage of competences and resources.  The addition of know how will increase the services which can be offered to the customers.

 

About MFSA

Marcel Frey SA was founded in 1929 in Court. It employs today 17 people and it’s active in Swiss precision turning. Mr Edmond Grosjean, the owner, has been in the company since 1953.

 

MPS Micro Precision Systems was founded by the Faulhaber Group in Bienne. It took over some activities of the former RMB (1936). It is active in micro-systems based on the technology of ball bearings for the watch industry, as well as in the domains of the medical, automation and defence. It employs 190 persons in its two plants in Bienne and Bonfol.
